Then I stitched around with a zigzag and straight stitch to secure all the parts. Next, I added a simple, little bow.Since my little one is in love with tutus now, I decided her Dancin’ Chick needed one too! I cut a 1.5 inch wide strips of tulle, folded it in half lengthwise, ruffled it, and then attached it.For using what I had on hand as far as fabric, ribbon, thread, and tulle, I’m happy with my results. I spent around $3 for the shirt on sale at Children’s Place.
If I was to do it again, I would change a few things:
- Solid Color Shirt
- Matching Tulle & Ribbon
- Different fabric for the legs & bill
I did decide to add one more tiny feature…Eye Lashes!
So, the final Dancin’ Chick Applique looks like this!
Even if you don’t have someone to make a Dancin’ Chick for, I hope I have inspired you to add a few extra touches, frills, bling, etc. to your basic appliques!
